The History of Platinum SupplY & Auto electrical

Built in Bunbury. Driven by Family. Trusted Across WA.

Platinum Supply & Auto Electrical was founded in 2021 with a clear purpose — to build a reliable, values-driven auto electrical and mechanical business that customers could trust and employees could be proud to be part of.

From day one, the business has been guided by strong trade knowledge, family-first values, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.

Founded on Trade Experience and Strong Leadership

Platinum Supply is led by Director Emily Kelly, alongside co-founder and CEO Mitchell Kelly. Together, they set out to create a business that balanced professional capability with genuine care for people — both customers and staff.

Mitchell brings a hands-on background to the role, holding a Certificate III in Automotive Electrical along with a range of additional certifications that have strengthened both his technical expertise and leadership capability. That practical experience continues to shape how Platinum Supply operates today — with decisions made by people who understand the work, the environments, and the expectations of clients across Western Australia.

Emily’s leadership has played a key role in building a business structure designed for long-term stability, scalability and sustainability, while keeping family values at the centre of everything Platinum Supply does.

Growing From Local Service to Statewide Support

What started as a Bunbury-based auto electrical business has grown steadily to support a wide range of industries across WA. As customer needs expanded, so did Platinum Supply’s capability.

Today, services include:

  • Auto electrical Bunbury workshop and field service

  • Heavy-duty mechanical maintenance

  • Fleet and commercial vehicle servicing

  • Mine spec vehicle and machinery conversions

  • Custom electrical systems, wiring and loom builds

  • Battery electric servicing and emerging technologies

This growth has been intentional — focused on reliability, safety, and consistent workmanship rather than rapid expansion for its own sake.

A Business Built Around People

Platinum Supply is proud to be a family-run business with clear values that guide daily operations:

  • Family first

  • Integrity

  • Humility

  • Honest, genuine communication

Those values are reflected in the team culture. With more than 55 skilled technicians and staff, Platinum Supply has created an environment that prioritises safety, training, and collaboration — because quality outcomes start with supported people.

Strengthening Leadership for the Next Phase

In 2025, Platinum Supply took another significant step forward with Troy Simpson joining as General Manager. With more than 20 years’ experience in heavy-duty maintenance and over a decade in senior leadership roles across Tier 1 mining operations, Troy brings a deep understanding of complex, site-based maintenance environments.

Under this leadership team, Platinum Supply continues to scale responsibly — supporting mining, construction, commercial and private clients across Western Australia while maintaining strong local roots in Bunbury.

Looking Ahead

From its establishment in 2021 to today, Platinum Supply has remained focused on building a business that lasts — one that operates safely, delivers quality work, and supports families both inside and outside the company.

The journey is still unfolding, but the foundation is strong.
